Family Adventures in North Wales & Cheshire

Family walks, outdoor days out, mini adventures & places to stay across North Wales, Cheshire & beyond.

Big adventures. Little adventurers.

Having kids doesn't mean the adventures have to stop.
They just look a little different.

The summit might take longer. Someone will probably need carrying. And you'll almost certainly have more snacks than actual hiking gear.

But mountains, forests, beaches, waterfalls and wild places? They're still there.

Take them with you.

Adventure starts close to home.

WHY WE ADVENTURE

Adventures for the whole family.

Not just places to entertain the kids.

My Mountains & Me is about finding places you'll all love — whether that's a toddler splashing through a stream, a first mountain summit or a beach picnic beneath an incredible sunset.

Because parents are allowed to enjoy the adventure too.

TRIED & TESTED

Tried with little legs.

Beautiful places are easy to find.

Knowing whether your three-year-old will actually make it around the walk is a little harder.

Our guides give you the stuff parents actually need to know:

Distance Time Terrain Parking Toilets Buggy Carrier Little Legs Food Mud
Our little-leg verdict: The first half was easy going, but the climb gets pretty punchy towards the top. A carrier would be useful for younger toddlers.

Why My Mountains and Me

I’ve always been a perfectionist and an over-thinker - the kind of person whose mind rarely switches off. Life, work and motherhood can feel loud and overwhelming at times, and getting outside has become my reset button.

The mountains, coastal paths and quiet woodland trails give me space to slow down, breathe deeply and step away from the mental noise. Time outdoors isn’t about ticking off summits or going further each time - it’s about feeling calmer, clearer and more present.

Sharing these adventures with my children reminds me to see the world more simply again.

Muddy boots, fresh air and small moments outside have a way of grounding us all, and that’s a big part of why My Mountains and Me exists - to encourage other families to experience the same benefits that nature brings to both body and mind.
