I’m a hiker at heart and a mum on a mission to raise little explorers. Most weekends you’ll find me lacing up my boots and heading straight into North Wales with my toddler in tow. From Snowdonia’s rugged ridgelines to peaceful Cheshire trails, the outdoors is where we feel most at home.

But believe it or not, I haven’t always been this way.

Growing up, I hated walking holidays. My parents would drag me around the French Alps every summer and I’d complain the whole way - “I’m cold!”, “I’m bored!”, “Are we there yet?!” All I wanted was a normal holiday with sand between my toes and not a mountain in sight.

Somewhere along the way, everything changed.

Now, I’m the one planning mountain days, coaxing my husband up steep paths, and chasing summit views in every corner of the UK. The Alps still hold a special place in my heart, but Snowdonia - with its drama, beauty, and wild spirit - has become my favourite place to explore.

And then I became a mum.

Becoming a mum didn’t slow the adventures - it reshaped them. We swapped peak-bagging marathons for microadventures, toddling through forests, splashing in streams, and finding joy in the tiny moments most walkers stride past. Watching her discover waterfalls, woodland creatures, and wide-open landscapes has been one of the most unexpectedly magical parts of becoming a parent.

Now My Mountains and Me is where I share those stories - our family hikes, toddler-friendly adventures, practical tips, and real, honest insights into exploring the outdoors with little ones. It’s a space for other parents, walkers, dreamers, and nature lovers who want to make memories outside, even in the chaos of family life.

I’m still learning, still exploring, still carrying snacks everywhere (because toddlers), and still in love with every mountain moment.
